Golf - Sunday 19th July 2020

Rhonda Robertson and Wally Robertson at the 1st Tee - our playing partners today.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies + 2 Ball Team.

The weather was great and the course has dried out nicely after all recent rain. Our playing partners were Wally and Rhonda Robertson and we did have some good highlights - the best of which was a birdie from Peter at the 15th.

We had 84 starters with 5 visitors from Shelly Beach, Everglades, Nelson Bay, Howlong and Terrigal.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Wally Robertson had three 3 pointers in a row; Rhonda Robertson had 4 x 3 pointers; Peter Martin enjoyed a good birdie on the 15th but missed out on kisses - Wal was heartbroken; Annette Cross had great gobbler into the hole on the 10th for a par; Kaz Coventry parred the 18th and as a team  with Dyer’s would have got 13 points on the 17th; Geoff Turner 5/4 on the 17th ; Barbara Frost had 4/4 on the 9th; Ron Puiatti had a birdie on the 2nd; Sandra Coyle had a great back 9 and won the Ladies Singles; Ray Buttsworth had a birdie on the 14th and a 4 pointer on the 4th; Mona Maher played the back 9 really well; Suzanne Waugh was a steady golfer and scored 19 points on the back 9; George Foster finished with the same ball he started with and the boys beat the girls for the Keno ticket; Steve Robinson had birdies on the 14/15/9th and scored 40 points; Clyde Cruickshanks had a birdie on the 3rd (not far off a hole in one I understand); Lyn Cruickshanks had a 3 pointer on the last hole; Liz Robinson had a 4 pointer on the 15th; Vicki Foster has 36 points with no wipes; my highlights were getting out of 5 different bunkers in 1, finished with the same ball I started with, the boys beat the girls for the Keno ticket after close battle until the boys produced three 3 pointers and a 4 pointer all in a row which put us behind the 8 ball.

Some information for some of our older members who may remember the Battaglini family. Tom Battaglini passed away in June this year aged 81 years. Tom was a club Member approximately years 1970 to 1990.
