We ventured to Morisset on Sunday to play our final game against Magenta Shores in difficult conditions with rain and wind through most of the day.
Although putting up a good effort against a strong Magenta Shores team we went down 4 matches to 3 and a half. Individual Results were;
1. Tony van der Kolk lost 8/7
2. Tony Cosentino won 4/3
3. Michael Connors won 1up
4. Ray Burns won 2up
5. Bob Thomas lost 2/1
6. Graeme Wright lost 3/2
7. Mark Sorridimi lost 2/1
8. Adam Jennians won 1up
Our Number 1 obviously had somewhere else to be (Sorry Tony!)
Tony Cos earns the gamesmanship award for announcing after he'd hit a good drive, and just before his opponent hit, that he'd hit it in the left hazard twice in previous games.
Special mention to Ray Burns for finally showing his potential and recording a good win after being 4 down after 4 holes.
Special mention also to me (I'm allowed!) for winning after hitting 20 shanks in the practice nets and being 4 down after 5.
Thank you to all players for representing the club well and having a red hot crack each week as underdogs.
The final match of the season for our Gosford men was played at Morisset against Magenta Shores.We have a bye in the last round
A Grade lost 4 to 3 and 1/2
B Grade won 2 1/2 to 1/2
C Grade won 3 to 0
The wins for B and C Grade will put them into calculations for the playoffs depending on the results of the last round.
