Notes about the match: Gosford #2 team fielded 4 new players to the team to take on Everglades at Wyong today. Two of the four, Bert Brink and Stephen Mc.Guckin had great wins, Stephen triumphing over Trevor Walker, a 4 marker while Stephen plays on 11.7. The team was most unlucky to lose the match today as Lindsay Morgan’s opponent birdied the 18th to win his match, while Steve Fairnham played magnificently only to end up square. Ted Roberts was very solid after running into trouble early but came home with a wet sail to have a good win. To those that lost, disappointment was evident but I am sure they will bounce back in their future games.
The next round is scheduled for Shelly Beach but because Mangrove Mountain has pulled out we will be playing a practice match there amongst ourselves before we tackle Shelly Beach at Everglades on the 15th February.
Already the Gosford team has developed a strong club spirit as was evidenced today. Let’s hope that it will continue into the future.
