What an exceptional day we had at F-Troop this morning with some heavy projects on hand to do.
The kitchen was to be painted, the bark spread all over the 1st and 10th tees to be cleaned up, two fallen trees to be cut up and removed and a fat spillage outside the kitchen area to be removed as well as our normal maintenance work. Fortunately we had 16 volunteers on duty today including two new members Stephen Hogg and Terry Coyle. Welcome to Stephen an Terry.
On hand today were Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Geoff Bridge, Don Nicholls, Rob Benson, Warren Gray, Steve Hogg, Terry Coyle, Peter Martin, Sam Knox, John Hollebon, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Carolyn Buttsworth and Jan Martin
The tree gang of Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Geoff Bridge, Kevin O'Brien, Terry Coyle, Sam Knox, Rob Benson were kept busy removing and disposing of the fat spill outside of the kitchen and repairing the garden there, cutting up and removing two fallen trees and cleaning up.
Warren Gray and Steve Hogg cleaned up rubbish and loose timber around the course.
Peter Martin and Don Nicholls worked in the kitchen supervising the painting
John Hollebon trimmed the hedge at the 14th and trimmed the hedge at the putting green.
Di Beechey, Carolyn Buttsworth and Anne Burgess cleaned up the BBQ Garden area, car parks, 1st and 10th tees, putting green garden.
I worked at the 14th bush toilet area, dead headed agapanthus at the 14th, 15th and the 5th, wired up the elk horns at the 5th, watered the pots in the Wedding Gazebo, cleaned out the gazebo including picking up bark in the wedding garden, cleaned out bark from the gardens at the 1st and 10th, had another chomp at weeding the retainer wall a the Men's 10th tee.
We had a huge morning tea with the inclusion of Trevor Blackburn's kitchen team and we really appreciated Barto's selection of morning tea breads and slices. Thank you Barto!
It is amazing what can be done with a bit of Member power. A big thank you to all our members who volunteered their time today. We can do so much more when we have extra hands.
The club kitchen is really starting to look fantastic, new walls, new floor, new light fittings, all in sparkling clean white and that is before all the cooking equipment goes back in after being steam cleaned within an inch of its life.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
