New babies in the wild - at Gosford Golf Course.

After a lot of heavy rain early this morning I did not have high expectations of being able to play golf this morning for a 7.30 am shotgun start. However the weather cleared and we hit off on schedule and only had to endure a very wet course and some light showers.  The course has shown much endurance in the continuing wet weather with golf continuing as usual.

My playing partners were Rae Brown and Lorraine Bignall and we had a good day playing well as a team - made all the better for being the winning team.  We hit off on the 3rd Tee and by the time we got to the 18th I was quite happy to walk in and have a coffee until Captain Bignall told us we had two holes to play! Just as well as it gave us the opportunity to get enough points to win the day.

The Golf Event of the day was a Ladies Team 3BBB vs par - Opening Day

We had 71 starters.

RESULTS:

WINNERS: Lorraine Bignall, Jan Martin and Rae Brown - Plus 6

NO HANDICAPPING TODAY!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: We had some lovely highlights with visits from Annette Dunk, Maggie Minjoy, Michelle Toth and baby Lily Carmella at Presentation; I think everyone's highlights was gooing and queuing for cuddles of Lily; Rae Brown scored some good pluses as did Lorraine Bignall; Di Beechey's highlight was playing 18 holes and finishing; Rhonda Austen hit a beautiful shot from the edge of the dam on the 17th nearly into the hole; Allison Guthriie's highlight was getting her buggy around the course without getting bogged: Sandra Innes almost had a hole in one at the 14th, scoring a birdie; Denise Bentlin had a plus/plus (3/4) at the 12th; Team of Helen Potter, Lyn Bates and Di Thomlinson started with a plus on their first hole and then something else happened; my highlight was out-driving Lorraine on the 14th ( I hit a driver and Lorraine hit a 6 iron)
