F-Troop - Monday 29th September 2014

Whew!  What a huge day we had at F-Troop today.

We had 10 volunteers and got some good projects finished.

On hand were Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Rob Benson, Geoff Bridge, Warren Gray, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

The boys collectively worked on taking down the rest of the big dangerous tree at the back of the 16th Tee.  It was a big job and well done by the F-Troopers.  Picking up the fallen timber was a job by itself.

Warren Gray & Rob Benson also did rubbish pick up around the course.

Di Beechey and Anne Burgess  worked on installing a decorative water pump and a bird bath at the 18th Tee gardens as well as watering the gardens in Camellia Way.

I worked in various places including cleaning up at the Bush Toilet area and watering the plants there, tidying up the 6th Tee garden, worked with Ron Gowing renewing the plants in the Vertical Garden at the 1st Tee, watered the gardens at the 1st and 10th, planting in four trees ( two African Red Tulip Trees (Spathodea) and two Jacaranda Trees) at the 17th dogleg corner - all trees were donated by Members.

Morning Tea of mini cakes were appreciated by F-Troop after a hard morning's work. Thank you Chef Brad!

After morning Tea Trevor Harrison repaired the broken protective fence around the hedges at the front steps of the club.  (The fence has only been up a week or so)

My thanks to Ron Gowing for his kind donations of various plants and trees for the course and for lending his expertise in planting the Vertical Garden.    A BIG THANK YOU to all our supporting Members.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

CONGRATULATIONS TO MITCH BALLARD ON HIS FIRST HOLE-IN-ONE AT RYDE PARRAMATTA GOLF CLUB.   Well done Mitch!
