F-Troop - Monday 1st September 2014

What a magic day we had for the first day of Spring!  Pity about the forecast for this next week.

We only had a small crew today so we all had to put in the hard yards.  We had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Geoff Bridge, Peter Martin, Don Nicholls, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

The Tree Gang of Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison & Geoff Bridge got some good work done - trimming a shrub at the 8th Tee and undercutting at the12th fairway and including rubbish pick up at the nets.

Peter Martin & Don Nicholls did some rubbish pickup and some plumbing repairs in the Clubhouse and at the 17th water bubbler.

Di Beechey and Carolyn Buttsworth cleaned up underneath the Clubhouse, the BBQ area, 1st and 10th Tees, 3rd and 5th tees and the native garden at the 6th.

Anne Burgess completed the grass garden at the back of the 10th green, tidied up and weeded at the 18th garden and Camellia Way, cleaned up some fireweed around the course.

I helped the boys with the trimming at the 8th Tee, trimmed the shrubs at the 6th Native Garden & removed weeds, removed fireweed at the 6th dam, cleaned up at the bush toilets, checked the Ladies Garden at the 13th, removed fireweed from the 13th Tee and around the dam edge, trimmed the Hibiscus at the 11th fairway.

Morning Tea of Huge Scones with Jam & Cream was very welcome - Thank you Chef Brad.

After morning tea the boys completed the picket fence at the front of the club entrance which is meant to protect the hedge plants that have suffered from accidental breakage.  More rubbish was cleared from the Bush toilet area.

My thanks and appreciation to all the F-Troopers and Greens Staff for their help in having the course the best we could get it for the judging of the Best Commercial Garden in the Gosford Shire.  The judges will be inspecting our gardens tomorrow and hopefully we will get some good results again this year.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
