F-Troop - Monday 25th August 2014

We had another busy day at F-Troop and thankfully we had good weather to work in.

Today we had nine volunteers to share the load - Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Rob Benson, Warren Gray, Peter Martin, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin. The planned tree trimming with the cherry picker was postponed due to the recent bad weather - to be re-sheduled at a later date. The planned stump removing went ahead with a contractor working his way around the course removing stumps in order of urgency.

The Tree Gang of Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Trevor Harrison & Don Nicholls undercut at the 17th and the 17th out of bounds line.

Rob Benson & Warren Gray had the daunting task of rubbish pick up around the course and fixed up the rope border and post at the 17th green. (later painted white by Peter Martin).

Peter Martin was rouse about and picked up rubbish from the garden clean outs at the back of the 5th and the 8th and 12th tees.

Anne Burgess cleaned up at the BBQ area and worked on the new grass and camellia garden at the back of the 10th green.

I cleaned up at the bush toilets and fertilized the camellias there, trimmed and weeded the garden at the back of the 5th green, planted in new Gazanias at the Ladies 13th tee, trimmed and weeded the garden at the 12th & 8th tees, planted in three new Vireya shrubs and added fertilizer in the Front Street Garden, tidied up the Lavender garden after the rabbit damage.

We all enjoyed morning tea of croissants and jam - Thank you Chef Brad!

After morning tea ( I was slack and forgot to take a photo) it was all hands on deck to erect a small picket fence around the hedge plants at the front entrance to prevent further damage to the hedge plants that have been struggling to take off because of the constant branch damage by careless by passers.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
