Golf - Tuesday 24th June 2014

Congratulations to Bob & Glennis English
on the safe arrival of their 5th grandchild

What a cold, wild and windy day we had for golf today - but that did not worry our good players who came in with very nice scores.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Elly Van Den Berg had 3 pointers at the 8th & 12th and played a nice steady front nine; June Bowen turned with 22 points,  had 7X3 pointers and one 4 pointer at the 17th for her nice 39 points; Merran Adams had two pars; Lyn Cruickshanks played steady golf wth 6 x 3 pointers and turned with 20 points;Lynn Puiatti had a gobbler 4/3 at the 11th; Robin Incoll had a gobbler at the 13th; Judy Verlander had back to back pars at the 4th and 5th; Alison Guthrie, Doreen Vines and Pam Witt enjoyed each others company; Rosalie Dyer had a nice 39 points including a birdie at the 11th and pars at the 9th and 10th; Mary Ellis enjoyed good company and had a nice day; Bev Adams turned in 22 finishing with 37 points; Annie Brink had a steady game for her 34 points; Lorraine Bignall had a huge gobbler putt at the 6th and had 3/3 on two of the par 3's; Sheila Williams played the fairways well and was a demon on the putting green; Georgina Lamb had 5/4 on the 6th; Rosemary Cohen had a good 4 pointer; Margaret Nichols and Rhonda Austen managed to play 18 holes marking their own cards instead of exchanging and had to do a hasty record change at the 18th (obviously the wind made them do it!);  my highlight was bringing home June Bowen who had played well for her winning points with just a little hiccup after the turn which cost her a few points.

My thanks to Lorraine Bignall and Glennis English for the attached photos.
