F-Troop - Monday 23rd December 2013

We had a very steamy day to work at F-Troop.  The course was a mess with falling bark from the trees
removing their bark overcoats in the hot weather.

We had Eleven volunteers - Trevor Harrison Don Nicholls, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Zorro Sorridimi, Rob Benson, Garry Trigg, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Carolyn Buttsworth and Jan Martin (with two little ankle biters)

Trevor, Don, Duncan, Geoff & Zorro worked on the security trailer port down at the F-Troop Sheds and then helped to dismantle the marquee.

Peter, Rob & Garry were on pick up duty - and there was plenty of that - and then they helped to dismantle the marquee.

Di and Carolyn put in some very hard yards especially in such hot weather - watering the gardens and removing the grasses from the Front Street Garden with help of Zorro. The Front Street garden is now getting to a controllable state but is still work in progress. Many thanks to Di for homing in on this job and making it happen.

Anne worked on watering the gardens and trees on the course.

With my two little helpers on board I managed to clean up the bush toilets and areas around, watered the wedding garden area and pots, cleaned up bark at the back of the 1st tee.  I was amazed to find that Vandals had again struck at the Bush Toilets - smashing the plumbing pipes on the back wall of the Men's Toilet and attempted to break the main water pipe.  Fortunately it was all fixable and everything is back in working order. (The last time this happened the whole cistern of the toilet was stolen)

After a very hot morning's work we really appreciated morning tea of giant iced buns and multiple cups of tea and coffee. Thanks Chef John!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE AND HAPPY GOLFING!

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
