F-Troop - Monday 16th September 2013

We had a skeleton crew today and were lucky enough to get our projects done before the threatening rain set in.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Peter Martin, Rob Benson, Martin Gallagher, Garry Trigg, Don Nicholls & Jan Martin.

The Tree Gang of Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher and Garry Trigg took care of some trees on the 15th fairway and moved our timber supply at the 18th to the wood pile.

Peter Martin & Don Nicholls installed new tee signs on all of the 18 tees.

Warren Gray & Rob Benson took care of rubbish pick up around the course.

I worked at the 3rd Ladies Tee garden putting in a new succulent garden and gave the existing garden some TLC, raked up the 3rd tee area; renewed the soil at the orchid plants at the 14th and the 18th; planted in two new native trees at the 6th native garden; tidied up at the 14th bush toilets and watered the gardens there; watered the plants on the bike garden and nearby trees; planted in the last of the Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow plants at the new cart shed area.

Morning tea was some lovely fresh muffins that we all appreciated - Thanks Chef John!

I noticed today when I was working on the orchid gardens that once again we have had orchid plants stolen - not just the flowers - but the whole plant.  At the 14th the rocks that form the garden edge were tossed out of the way when the plants were removed - they were kind enough to leave us with one plant in that spot with all the roots exposed.  It is hard to believe that the low life that help themselves to these plants can feel comfortable with themselves.

The results of the garden competition for the Gosford area will be announced this Thursday night and we are hopeful of getting a mention.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
