At Gosford Hotel - after Golf Dinner

How good can it get for golf!  The weather was sublime - blue sky, sunshine and a beautiful Golf Course - what more can we ask for!

Our playing partners today were Neville and Jan Walker and we had a lovely day on the village green with heaps of highlights including a gobbler from Jan W. out of the hills on the 2nd ; Jan M . 19 points on the front 9, Jan and Neville Walker scoring NINE 3 pointers on the back 9, and Peter coming within a whisker of a birdie on the 16rh, but  not the least was the girls beat the boys for the Keno Ticket - leading all of the way.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford + 2 Ball Team - Mixed Men and Ladies.

We had 56 starters with 2 Visitors from Shelly Beach.

MIXED:  Michael Norman & Pauline Norman - 50 points

LADIES:  Jan Martin & Jan Walker - 47 points (Hooray!)

MEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER:  Steven Cross - 40 points on a countback

RUNNER UP:  Walter Loschi - 40 points

WOMEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER:  Fay Bailey - 38 points on a countback

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Jan Van Den Berg had 4/4 on the 4th; Elly Van Den Berg had a 4 pointer on the 14th; Pauline Norman doubled her score from Friday and parred the 18th, 12th and the 5th and had five 3 pointers; Michael Norman had five 3 pointers in a row 12th, 13th and 14th including 2 parred holes; Robbie Brann's highlight was bringing the Norman's home and marking Pauline's card; Kay Frewin had a nice 35 points; Robyn Johnston had five 3 pointers; Mary Bromwich had five 3 pointers; Steve Cross had 3/4 birdie at the 17th; Wally Bailey was an improved player; Jan & Neville Walker had nine 3 pointers collectively on the back nine; Jan Walker had a gobbler chip in on the 2nd; a nice chip onto the 18th for a 3 pointer, 4/3 on the 15th, 4/3 on the 16th and some nice pars; Yvonne Bean - playing with Wendy Stapleton beat the boys for the Keno Ticket and Yvonne scored a nice 38 points;  my highlight was playing with great company, winning the Ladies 2 Ball with Jan, finishing with the same ball I started with and won a ball, - not to mention winning the all important Keno ticket.
