F-Troop - Monday 15th April 2013

We had a good day for our F-Troop Projects today and were able to achieve some good work before the predicted wet weather arrived this evening.

We had ten volunteers to share the work load.  Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Rob Benson, Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Bruce White, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

The course was in a reasonable order so we put the rubbish pick up on hold and concentrated on other tasks at hand.

The Tree Gang this week was Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Rob Benson & Bruce White.  They worked down the 18th and at the 1st.

A good project completed today was a garden arbor at the 14th tee.  The purpose of the garden arbor is to provide some shade over an otherwise very hot area which should bring some comfort to our golfers during the hot weather and will protect the existing plants that have been heat affected.  We are very fortunate to have a few talented maintenance men in our F-Troop who effortlessly constructed the arbor before morning tea.  Thanks to Trevor Don & Peter for a job well done!  Don also did some plumbing repairs to the bush toilets.

Di Beechey and Anne Burgess concentrated on cleaning up the back of the clubhouse, the car park back and front including tidying gardens at the front of the clubhouse and at the 14th tee.

I worked on watering the gardens at the 1st and 10th tees, tidied the gardens there and cleaned the water feature; cleaned the bush toilets and watered the gardens there, watered the wedding garden area; tidied up the Ladies Garden at the 13th tee.

Morning tea was some huge iced buns which we appreciated after a hard mornings work.  Thanks Chef John!

There were a large social group of golfers and the Ladies Pennants matches on the course so we were a bit restricted in our use of the course.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
