F-Troop - Monday 17th December 2012

We had a very busy day at F-Troop today as there has been a lot of wind about this last week that had brought down a new lot of branches and leaves and scattered them everywhere.  As well it is bark dropping time for the trees and that is an added lot to pick up.

We had some good help with Martin Gallagher Geoff Bridge, Duncan Dyer, Garry Trigg, Trevor Harrison, Warren Gray, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Rob Benson, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin to share the load.

The tree gang of Martin Gallagher, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge and Garry Trigg continued their undercutting of the trees - today working along the 12th and 13th fairways.

Peter Martin, Trevor Harrison & Don Nicholls worked on laying some turf at the new cart shed area.

Rob Benson & Warren Gray had the daunting task of pick up duty and did many trips to the tipping area with rubbish from the car park, gardens and around the course.

Di Beechey did a great job of cleaning up around the car park at the front and side of the clubhouse as well as working with Anne Burgess cleaning the back car park and the BBQ area, watering gardens out on the course, cleaning the bush toilets and watering the gardens there and watering the hydrangeas at the 3rd.

I worked at the 1st and 10th tees picking up sticks and leaves from the paths, gardens and the lawn area, trimmed the lavender plants at the 16th and the 10th tee, partly hedged the putting green and dead headed the roses, hedged the garden at the 10th tee.

Morning tea of fruit pastries fresh from the oven were very welcome - Thanks Chef John!

The course is in good order for the Christmas Holiday period.  Hopefully we will not have too much in the way of high winds and we continue to get some useful rain in non-golfing hours over the holiday break.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
