We had a nice weather day for F-Troop and the Sue Suters Charity Day that was held at Gosford Golf Club today. There was a good turn up for the Charity Day which was good to see.
We had thirteen volunteers for F-Troop today which was great and we managed to get some good work done. Our starters were Geoff Bridge, Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Rob Benson, Richard Casey, Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Warren Gray, Bruce White, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess & Jan Martin.
The Tree Gang of Martin Gallagher, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Trevor Harrison & Don Nicholls did some great work cleaning up at the creek area to the left of the 8th tee and undercutting on the 9th fairway.
Peter Martin, Richard Casey, Rob Benson, Bruce White & Warren Gray were on general pick up duty - cleaning up around the back of the clubhouse, the car park, between the 10th & 11th fairways, 7th & 8th tees and then loaded two batches of mulch for the wedding garden area and distributed it onto the gardens.
Di Beechey & Anne Burgess cleaned up the BBQ area, cleaned the bush toilets & watered the gardens there,watered and cleaned up gardens at the 3rd & 5th, the 14th tee gardens, gardens at the front of the clubhouse and the 1st and 10th tees as well as helping to mulch and water the wedding garden.
My time was spent in doing the final clean up of the leaves and sticks that were choking the gardenias in the wedding garden, adding fertilizer to the gardens, mulching and watering the gardens and dead heading the roses at the putting green. There were in excess of 20 garbage tins of leaves and sticks removed from these gardens in the last week which shows how much leaf & rubbish build up the gardens suffer. I did not get a chance to take other photos today as we worked flat out until morning tea.
We enjoyed morning tea of "Giant" muffins - Thanks Chef John! We had worked up an appetite by then.
We have discovered another "break in" through the wire security fence along Racecourse Road and have added the repair job to our "things to do" list.
