Our super stars in action at the cart shed
We had a huge day at F-Troop today and thankfully had a good number of helpers to share the load.
It was the first day of the course maintenance so we had plenty of access to the course which gave us the opportunity to proceed with the planting of more Lomandra grasses at the 15th where we needed to use the tractor & auger to cope with the ground preparation.
Today's volunteers were Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Trevor Harrison, Garry Trigg, Bruce White, Warren Gray, Des Wilson, Peter Martin, Nathan Allan, Richard Casey, Ron Beechey, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Jan Martin & Arthur Verlander.
Working on the cladding of the cart shed we had Trevor Harrison, Nathan Allan, Richard Casey & Peter Martin. These troopers are fast becoming super stars with their fantastic progress with the shed. The boys worked from 7.00 am into the late afternoon to complete their work which was appreciated.
Working on the Lomandra Grasses we had Geoff Bridge (on tractor duty) Martin Gallagher, Garry Trigg, Bruce White (digging duties), Jan Martin (planting duties) & Peter Martin (watering system duties). We had a disrupted morning and did not finish all of the area of refurbishment however the area is clearly marked with drop zones for any unfortunate players who have ventured into this spot. More grasses will be added at a later date.
Anne Burgess worked on cleaning up around the clubhouse and at the 18th tee and Camellia Way.
Di Beechey cleaned up around the clubhouse, car park, wedding garden, helped me to mulch the lavender garden at the 16th; watered the garden at the 2nd green & sundry other gardens, mulched and replanted the hedge plants at the 10th tee while Ron Beechey maintained the watering systems getting them in working order.
The Roses at the putting green were sprayed, mulched with sugar cane mulch and treated with seasol.
Arthur Verlander worked hard all morning poisoning the paths and problem areas around the course.
We were ready for morning tea this morning and it was very welcome with Chef John supplying us with cheese and bacon rolls. Thanks Chef John!
Our best wishes to Martin Gallagher who is currently nursing a fractured wrist.
Our projects are moving along well and we keep making progress.
