F-Troop Monday 9th July 2012

We had another very successful F-Troop day with thirteen volunteers turning up on a very cold early morning.  The day warmed into a beautiful day and we were able to get some good tasks done.

Today we had Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Bruce White, Trevor Harrison, Richard Casey, Peter Martin, Noel Fenning, Ken Donald, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Shirley Donald & Jan Martin.

The Tree gang of Martin Gallagher, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge & Bruce White took care of a large Camphor Laurel at the 17th that was crowding some of the good trees growing in that area.

Working on the new cart shed site we had Peter Martin, Trevor Harrison, Richard Casey & Ken Donald and they managed to complete a retainer wall and safety fence at the area.

Di Beechey & Anne Burgess cleaned up the car parks, washed down the front steps, cleaned underneath the clubhouse, cleaned up the BBQ area, tidied up gardens, trimmed the Hydrangeas at the front of the club and added a note of interest in the Chinese Elm in the Tranquility Garden at the 6th tee.  Be sure to cast your eyes up to find a surprise feature there.

Shirley Donald helped me to plant out some Gazania plants donated by Brian & Lesley Gregory into the Ladies Garden at the 13th.  We weeded all of the garden areas including around the edge of the dam, weeded the path, trimmed the shrubs and fertilized the native plants.  The garden looks much better for a tidy up

Noel Fenning installed some road division markers at the front entrance to the club to keep vehicles on the right side of the entrance.

Morning tea was very welcome and the mini muffins went down well - Thanks Chef John!

Our timber sales are going really well having sold 16.2 cub. metres so far this year which is going to finance several of our F-Troop projects.  Our thanks to our Members who are supporting the firewood project.
We still have more good quality timber left so get your orders in so you don't miss out.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
