for 2/4 each demoralizing the Palm Beach opposition

We had 24 Gosford Golfers attending the Palm Beach  Golf Club Challenge Day hosted by the Members of Palm Beach Golf Club.  We were very warmly welcomed and looked after all day by the Members and a nice late lunch after golf of pig on the spit, salads and chips was very much appreciated.

Attending we had Ron & Lynn Puiatti, George & Vicki Foster, Wally & Rhonda Robertson,  Nigel & Sheena Asken, Doug & Robin Incoll, Garry & Doreen Trigg, Col & Lauren Matterson, John & Julie Hazzard, Jan & Peter Martin, June Bowen & Annie Brink, Kevin O'Brien & Lorraine Bignall, Michael & Pauline Norman.

We had a lovely day taking a bus from Gosford, very capably driven by Ron Puiatti, arriving for Golf at Palm Beach for a 10.30 am hit off.   Champagne & chocolates during the trip were mandatory to celebrate Lynn's birthday (of yesterday).

The Event of the day was a 2BBB and individual Men and Ladies Gosford and Palm Beach.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  John Hazzard was a consistent player scoring 42 points with one wipe; Joan (Palm Beach) had a nice par on the 7th; Jan Martin had a 4/4 on the 6th; Peter Martin's highlight was meeting John & Joan (Palm Beach) and missing the cars on the highway at the 2nd hole; John (Palm Beach) had 5/3 on the 1st; Ian (Palm Beach) had a birdie 2/4 on the 8th; Annie Brink had a lovely 42 points including 26 points on the back 9 with a gobbler; June Bowen scored a nice 37 points; Ruth's (Palm Beach) highlight was playing with Annie & June and learnt how to hit straight down the fairways; Ron Puiatti had 4 birdies; Don (Palm Beach) chipped out of the bunker & into the hole at the 4th; Lynn Puiatti had two 4 pointers; George Foster's highlight was winning $1 off Peter Martin;  Vicki Foster had 3 pars; Rhonda Robertson birdied the 1st; Alan (Palm Beach) had four birdies, 2nd, 4th twice and the 7th; Wally Robertson's highlight was having his ball thrown back from the beach area;  Dan (Palm Beach) parred the 6th (where he had a hole in one a few months ago); Baz (Palm Beach) had a good drive on the 7th; Kevin O'Brien & Lorraine Bignall both upset their opposition when they both gobbled into the hole at the 11th; Martin & Terry (Palm Beach) both played a good round; Doug Incoll's ball hovered over the hole at the hole at the 4th  before finally falling into the hole which upset his opposition; Col Matterson had birdies at the 1st and the 7th; Lyn (Palm Beach) had a 3/4.

We are looking forward to next year's challange with Palm Beach Golf Club when they will visit our Gosford Club which will give us an opportunity to host them for the day on our beautiful course.
