Golf - Sunday 16th October 2011 - Captain Vs President's Day

Today was another of our popular days - CAPTAIN VS PRESIDENT DAY well supported by our Members.  The Captain's Side wore Red Shirts and the President's Side wore Blue Shirts  It was a hard fought contest and the WINNER FOR 2011 WAS THE PRESIDENT'S SIDE

We had lovely golfing weather and the course was in good condition. - Compliments to our greens staff.

The Golfing Event of the day was American Foursomes - for Mixed Pairs.

We had 80 starters with 3 visitors from Canberra and Everglades.

RUNNER'S UP:  Rob Brann and Robin Brann - 62 points

CAPTAIN'S SIDE:


WINNERS:  Arthur Collien and Kay Frewin - 66 points

RUNNERS UP:  Graham Brown & Rae Brown - 66 1/2 points

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Lynn Puiatti & Ross Drakeford had birdies at the 12th & 16th; Anne Stimpson & Mick Wilson had a birdie at the 5th; Mark Stimpson & Wendy Stapleton had a birdie on the 3rd; Ron Puiatti & Christine Drakeford scored well with a great putt from Christine on the 14th;
Mark & Lyn Douglas birdied the 1st; Kevin O'Brien & Lorraine Bignall had two birdies; Jan & Elly Van Den Berg's highlight was having no fighting during the match; Rob and Robin Brann had 6 bogies and all the rest were pars; Spencer Walklate  & Tania Burt were happy with a 70 nett score; Bev Way & Michael Crehan had a fabulous day with lots of lucky shots; Col & Lauren Matterson birdied the 15th; Davis & Kath Small birdied 10th; Doug Incoll & Robin Incoll's highlight was Doug putting Robin in the bunker at the 7th and Robin chipped out into the hole; Pam & Ian Witt birdied the 10th hole and finished with 61 points; Kay Frewin had four good shots out of the bunkers after encountering bees at the 6th;  Norma & Kerry Cubis had a birdie on the 11th & won for the Captain's side ;  Debbie Grinham chpped out of the bunker on the 10th into the hole;  Wally Robertson had one putt on the 9th; Lyn Cruickshanks had one putt on the 9th; Geoff Bridge was an improved player with his knee getting better; Ronda Jordon played a steady game on the first 9 holes; Jan & Peter Martin had birdies on the 14th and the 16th after parring the 13th and the 15th.  Bob & Vicki Morris played the 9th hole well.
