Golf - Saturday 1st October 2011 - Open Amateur and Orange Bowl

It was wonderful that the bad weather by-passed us today as we had the Open Amateur & Orange Bowl Event and two weddings - so no rain was required.   It was a very busy day at the club with all hands on deck getting preparations for day in hand.

Just when we were all feeling good about having the "Best Commercial Garden" in town I arrived this morning to find that we had damage to our front entrance gardens.  I think we could safely presume that it was caused by late party leavers from the previous night - not exactly an accident as the plants were ripped out & shredded across the car park & the protective ropes were pulled out and thrown on the ground. We have enough problems with willful vandals without the contribution from drunken louts.   It is getting to be "just another day".

The golfers enjoyed a rain free day which was good as we had 203 starters.

The Golf Event of the Day was the OPEN AMATEUR & ORANGE BOWL- SINGLE STROKE.

We had 203 starters with 27 visitors.
