Golf - Tuesday 17th May 2011 - Invitation Day

Ladies Invitation Day is always a very popular day, this year attracting 157 starters with 63 visitors and we were lucky enough to have the course in excellent condition and the weather was absolutely perfect.

My playing partners today were three lovely ladies from the Branxton Golf Club - Jacqui Hannan, Jan Scobie & Carol Powell. We had a very enjoyable day with some good highlights & winning a ball made our day.

The Event of the day was a Team Stableford with two scores to count.

We had 157 starters with 63 visitors from Branxton, Everglades, Mangrove Mountain, Shelly Beach, Pymble, Terrigal & Wyong.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Having played near the end of the field I did not have time to accumulate a lot of hightlights - but here are some: Jacqui Hannon (Branxton) had a gobbler 3/4 on the 5th; Jan Scobie (Branxton) had a great par on the 15th; Carol Powell (Branxton) had 5/3 on the 9th and parred the 7th; Felicity Mead birdied the 14th and parred the 7th; Denise Bark (Terrigal) had a gobbler on the 7th; Beverley Tooth (Wyong) had two 4 pointers; Judy Hocking (Everglades) had a gobbler.

The Invitation Day was a great success with all the ladies having a very enjoyable day.
