No play today - the course was closed due to heavy rain.
It will not come as a surprise to anyone to know that the course has been closed today. After rain overnight and all day today the water has got to a stage where it has no where to go except to lie a large puddles on the fairways. More rain is predicted for tomorrow which is a worry - but we shall see what tomorrow brings. Up to now the course has drained quickly and well - so fingers crossed that there will be some sunshine and wind in the near future.
We know when we have had enough rain when trees become dangerous from insecure footings and pockets of mushrooms appear at random. The greens staff needed to bring down one tree on the 7th early this week as it was in danger of falling.
