Golf - Tuesday 2nd March 2010

Showers were predicted but we managed it through our 18 holes of golf without a drop of water, in fact it was quite pleasant with a bit of cloud cover. Anybody who pulled out due to the weather predictions missed out on a good day.

It was a particularly good day for Judy Verlander who scored her first HOLE IN ONE at the 8th today. In addition to her Eagle at the 8th Judy also had a gobbler and two birdies, winning both the nearest to the pins at the 8th and the 14th. Judy was last seen celebrating at the club with husband Arthur and friends late this afternoon.

My playing partners today were Helen Stuart and Mary Ellis who were great company. Mary tried to pull us into line to be serious players but we managed to bring her down to our level.

We had some good highlights during the day but found the plus scores hard to find although we did get some good ones.

The Event of the day was a Single Par - 3 Grades and we had 62 starters with visitors from Morisset.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: After Judy Verlander's efforts all the rest of our highlights disappeared into insignificance however Silvia Lee had a gobbler at the 5th hole and my highlight was winning a ball for nearest the pin at the 8th.

PANDORA CHARITY DAY has been organised to be held on FRIDAY 30th April 2010

Shotgun start at 12.30 pm, Teams of 4, 2 scores to count, Single Stableford. Cost is $40 and includes refreshments and a BBQ lunch. Timesheet will be in the Pro Shop at the end of March.
