Golf - Thursday 19th November 2009

The Summer Heat Wave days have arrived and I hope our gardens survive the heat onslaught not to mention our Lady Golfers who would have been feeling it today. Ididn't play golf today, opting to clean up the front carpark & to get some water onto our gardens at the front entry area to the course.
The "Little Gem" Magnolia that we planted last year is showing good signs of growth and has flower buds in evidence. Let us hope the next few days do not burn the buds off as the flowers on this Magnolia specimen are magnificent so I hope we get to enjoy them. Be sure to keep your eye on this "little gem" so you do not miss out.
It was great to find one of our new male members sweeping all the leaves out of the practice net area today which is a huge help to our F-Troop who cannot stretch themselves to every maintenance job in need. It was a wonderful gesture & I was sure to pass on our appreciation to him. He said he is prepared to sweep out at least a small part each time he has an opportunity which is fantastic. Now, another 900 members with that attitude would really be something!
As I did not have any "golf" photos today I have thrown in a photo of one of my roses from home "Fiona's Wish"
Hope you enjoy!
