I think that there was a collective sigh of a relief from most players today that the Championships are finally over - none moreso than me. My playing partners today were Chris Dekker and Dawn Cook & it was tough going for us through the day with none of us having a major highlight.
Congratulations to all of our good players who come in with some respectable scores given the wet conditions. The course was still very wet underfoot, thankfully it was a nice sunny day. Hopefully we will get some more sun and winds leading up to our big Vets two day event next week so the course can dry out to a more friendly condition.
Firstly to the daily Event which was a stroke match and the third and final round of the Club Championships. We had 58 starters which goes to show the poor support that the Championships have received this year. We would normally have double that at least.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Judy Ruitenberg parred the 18th; Sue Hutton played a nice steady game getting about 5 pars; Margaret Pratt played a really steady game chipping well to the green; Lesley Gregory parred the 5th and the 6th; Doreen Vines had 4/4 on the 15th; Helen Potter birdied 16th; Marie Gledhill had a gobbler on the 18th; Jan Walker had a par on the 8th; Norma Cubis had a beautiful "sandy" shot into the hole on the 6th; Lynn Puiatti did not have a highlight to tell me about but she may disclose some to those who ask; Wendy Stapleton hit her first shot off the 1st tee to then find out that her buggy was not going to work. She raced back to the clubhouse & managed to borrow a buggy and then very cooly went back to her ball & went on to par the first hole.
Another highlight today was from Lorraine Linnert, Michele Martin & Sue Hutton who all played together for the first two rounds. Lorraine won the first day, Michele won the second day and Sue won today. What a great combination! (photo attached)
