Golf - Sunday 18th January 2009

It was a super day for golf today - quite a hot day but it was nice to be out there. Our partners today were Yvonne & Des Wilson & we had a good day especially after having won the Keno Ticket from the boys by one hole.
The Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team plus Singles Mixed men and Ladies. We had 112 starters with 9 visitors from Ashlar, Branxton, Lithgow, Magenta Shores, PGA, Trundle, and West Wyalong.
RESULTS:

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Pauline Norman put her 5th shot on the 18th into the bunker. Her 6th shot out of the bunker and into the hole to score 6/3; Michael Norman played to his handicap for the first time for a while; Peter Davidson had three birdies and did not get one kiss; Clyde Cruickshanks had 3/4 on the 9th; Bert Brink was using his new driver today and did not miss one fairway and he also scored back to back 3/4's on the 15th and 16th having 24 points on the back nine; Ian Hartley had birdies on the 2nd and the 14th and scored 43 points; Ian & Lynda had a team score of 50 (good enough to win the day); Tania Burt nearly had a hole in one on the 8th - missed her putt and scored 3/4; David Hando from Lithgow scored 35 points and his wife Tina scored 38 points; The girls beat the boys in the Davidson/Walklate-Burt group; Doon Jansen had birdies on the 14th and 16th; Bob Knox scored 2 birdies; Wally Johnston had 33 points and showed patches of brilliance; Vicky Foster & Kay Frewin beat the boys by two strokes; George Foster had 5 pars in a row; Bruce Bins and Steve Laing beat Leanne Binns and Lyn Bates for a Keno Ticket and they were one number off $1,800; Robin Incoll and Sandra Coyle beat the boys by three shots.
Other news I heard was that Paul Casey yesterday played in a purple shirt identical to our three noteable players last Sunday and did not get harrassed.
