Now I have said this before and I will say it again.....HOW GOOD ARE OUR F-TROOPERS!
We had another good turn up of troopers today which included Duncan Dyer, Noel Fenning, Martin Galligher, George Foster, Neil Hancock, Ray Presdee, Warren Gray, Doug Incoll, Gary Sammons, Bert Brink, Clyde Cruickshanks, Garry trigg & Peter Martin.
Today they worked with a mission and were just fantastic in completing the task of clearing the rubbish that has accumulated along the front fenceline of our course. I knew the job was going to be a big one as this untidy area has been an eyesore for quite sometime. I did not realize how big it was until we ventured into the area with our chain saw, whipper snippers, mowers and rakes.
It was unbelieveable that this much rubbish could sit there ignored for so many years. We estimated that it could have been 25 years since this area was properly cleared. There were an unestimatible amount of discarded bottles, plastic, food containers, shoes, car lights, car mirrors, beer cartons, golf balls and other unmentionables along with a heap of leaves, grass and tree branches.
We cut down abnoxious weeds like camphour laurels & privet that was thriving along the path edge and together with the rubbish removed was about eight trailer & six tractor loads of unwanted rubbish from our front door. This did not include the area west of the double gates which is still to be addressed. Our F-Troopers worked hard today & also removed loose timber from other parts of the course. Super job guys and much appreciated!!!!
We do have the task now of planning how we would like the front fenceline presented to the public - but let's face it .....it has to be better than what it was no matter what solution we come to.

I left the club today feeling a great sense of satisfaction that we had done something about our club presentation to the public. Even though it was not our area of responsibility it is still our "front Door" and first impressions are important.
We were limited today in what work we could do on the course because we had a ladies CCWGA Tournament being played off both tees at Gosford. It seemed sensible to do some "outside" work that would not interfere with the players.
