Golf - Thursday 23rd October 2008

Another challenging day for golf - cold, windy & wet but how green is our course. The new work must be making a difference as we can play in the wet with no threat of course closure as it used to be in the past. Everything is thriving with steady amounts of regular rainfall. The hot summer months to come will be a testing point.
I was very impressed with the signs that Wally Johnston has made and donated to the club. Thanks Wally! Visitors will not get lost and confused with the starting tees and players should have no trouble focusing on the "No chipping to the green" sign even if they are not wearing their glasses. There is a dedicated chipping area at the back of the practice nets.
Wayne Tomkinson delivered the Laciandra 'Jules' Tibouchinas for the Wedding Garden today & they were planted immediately. These plants finish off the front corner of the garden & should fill out to make a lovely display on maturity. Thanks Wayne!
With Members like Wally & Wayne WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
