The course was very busy today with  140 starters in the Ladies District Foursomes Championship.

We managed to work our way through some of our projects without interfering with the golfers.

On hand we had Trevor Harrison, Duncan Dyer, Kevin O’Brien, Steve Hogg, John Hollebon, Andy Henebury, Rob Benson, Ron Gowing, Peter Martin, Don Nicholls, Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were Loose Timber and Rubbish pick up around the course, tidy up around the clubhouse, tidy up of paths at the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tee, wedding garden and practice nets, maintenance of hedges, tidy up of the wood heap, delivery of firewood, cleaning of the bush toilets, watering the green space garden, tidy up and watering of the Xanadu Gardens, tidy up of garden at the 4th tee, tidy up of tranquility garden, watering pots at the 6th, bike garden, ladies 9th tee garden and 9th green, weeding native gardens at the 6th, watering and pruning roses in the wedding garden, a start made on tidying the garden at the cart shed.

We appreciated morning tea after a hard morning tea.

We had a chilly start to our morning and as the sun warmed up there was still a very cold wind that kept our coats and beanies on. On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Sam Knox, Kevin O’Brien, Steve Hogg, Ron Benson, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Ron Gowing, Andy Henebury, Di Beechey, Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were Loose timber and rubbish pickup around the course, tree maintenance, cleaning of bush toilets and watering green space gardens, tidy up around the clubhouse, tidy up of paths at the 1st and 10th tee, wedding garden and practice nets, watering in of new plants, dead heading streletzias at the clubhouse and 2nd tee, weeding garden at the 2nd, weeding hedge and garden at the 4th, tidy up of 6th tranquility garden, watering pots at the 6th, bike garden, ladies 9th tee and 9th green, tidy up of bike garden, tidy up of wood yard and delivery of firewood.

We enjoyed morning tea indoors out of the cold wind this morning.

We had a nice sunny day with a chilly breeze to keep the temperature down.  The course has dried out and there is a bit more run.

Our playing parters today were Duncan and Rosalie Dyer who were good company and we enjoyed the day on the village green.  Our main highlight (that is Rosalie and I) was winning the Keno Ticket off the boys.

The Golf event of the day was a Irish 4BBB Stableford + Singles for Men and Ladies.

We had 63 starters with 4 visitors from Stonebridge, Wyong, Waratah and Nelson Bay.

 After  al the rain over the weekend we still had a good turn up of volunteers this week.  We had some big projects on and every hand helps.


On hand we had Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Kevin O'Brien, Steve Hogg, Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Terry Coyle, Rob Benson, Ron Gowing, John Hollebon, Andy Henebury, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were tree maintenance at the 12th; loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, pick up of garden edging materials donated to the club, working at the woodheap, hedge maintenance and tidy up of gardens at the first tee and around the clubhouse, tidy up of paths around the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees, wedding garden and practice nets, cleaning of the bush toilets and tidy up of the 14th greenspace gardens, planting in of groundcover plants at the 6th native gardens, tidy up of the 6th tranquility garden, planting in of donated bromiliards, tidy up of the ladies 13th tee garden, maintenance in the clubhouse.

We were ready for our sugar hit at morning tea to restore our energy after a hard mornings work.

It was very wet on the course today with recent rains taking its toll.  The weather was all sunshine and blue skies which was a big help towards us enjoying our day on the Village Green.
