Golf - Tuesday 29th December 2015

We did not have any Competition Golf today however the course was busy all day with social golfers enjoying the Village Green.

On a sad note - we have been advised of the passing of long time member Ken Tunks.
Ken had been a member for 30 plus years and was a popular member of the club, he was made an honorary member last July when he was no longer able to play golf.

Funeral arrangements for the Late Ken Tunks are yet to be announced.

F-Troop -Monday 28th December 2015

F-Troop Morning Tea - Peter Martin, Duncan Dyer, John Harrison, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Jan Martin, Di Beechey, Dave Medcalf, Geoff Bridge, Anne Burgess.

When I said fix the water fountain I did not mean this. Somebody knocked it with a rake!

F-Trooper Kevin O'Brien holding the rake and looking very innocent

Pathway from the 14th Tee to the bush toilets clears of weeds.

Garden at the back of the 14th weeded and the drain cleaned out.

There was a lot of clean up to be done around the course with all the wind over the holidays bringing down a lot of bark.

Even though today was a Public Holiday we still had a good number of volunteers to help out and we all worked through the showers to get the jobs done.

On hand were Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Geoff Bridge, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Jan Martin. John Harrison and Dave Medcalf also volunteered their time today to do some maintenance to the Club Airconditioning system.

The boys were kept busy all morning picking up loose timber, bark and general mess around the course and the car parks caused by the high winds over the holidays.

Di Beechey and Anne Burgess worked outside the clubhouse cleaning up the car parks, BBQ garden, underneath the clubhouse and during the showers worked inside the clubhouse cleaning out the function storage room and links room sorting out the club linen and organising stock.

I worked at the 14th Bush Toilet area cleaning at the toilet block and weeding the garden and path at the back of the 14th tee, checked the tranquility garden at the 6th, checked the hedge plants at the 4th, cleaned and refilled the water feature at the 1st, tidied up at the starters box, watered the pots in the Wedding Gazebo.

We enjoyed our morning tea after a hard morning's work.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

On a sad note - our deepest sympathy goes to Kath Payn, one of our lady members, who's husband Michael passed away yesterday after a long illness. Our thoughts are with you Kath.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.

Donated Agapanthus have found a new happy home at the edge of the drain at the 6th fairway

Drain between the 6th and the 14th cleaned out

Leading up to Christmas we had a busy day getting our projects completed to leave the course in good order for the holidays.

We had twelve volunteers which was great for this busy time of the year. On hand were Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Geoff Bridge, Kevin O'Brien, Garry Trigg, Rob Benson, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Nigel Asken, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

The Tree Gang of Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Geoff Bridge, Kevin O'Brien and Garry Trigg worked on the 1st fairway undercutting where required.

Rob Benson and Don Nicholls did loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course.

Nigel Asken took on the daunting task of cleaning out feral weed from the 13th Dam.

Peter Martin watered the new hedge at the 4th, set up the watering system at the Ladies 13th Tee Garden, picked up rubbish around the course, removed a trailer load of garden rubbish from the 13th Ladies Garden, tidied up the 7th Tee.

Di Beechey tidied up round the clubhouse and 10th tee as well as working on projects inside the clubhouse.

Anne Burgess tidied up around the BBQ garden and around the clubhouse.

I planted out some more agapanthus that have been donated to us ( I am not sure who I need to thank for the plants but they have found a happy home at the 6th fairway) cleaned up the 14th Bush Toilets and watered the gardens there, tidied the 6th tranquility garden, worked on the Ladies Garden at the 13th tee, trimming the shrubs, weeding and raking up the rubbish and gave the garden a good watering.

Morning tea was very much appreciated having a nice selection of savoury breads, cakes and slices. Thank you Barto!

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Children's Christmas Party 2015 - Friday 18th December 2015

Santa Claus comes but once a year.........
(Thank heavens says the Mums, Dads, Grandparents and Great Grandparents and the Golf Club)

The Children had a ball with their designer balloons especially made for them by balloon specialists on the evening. They all ran riot around the club having fun until exhausted families took them home.

Santa arrived on cue and was Number One man with all the children rushing to put in their Christmas wishes......

Great job Andy!

The Children's party was a big success with the kids - many thanks to Di Beechey for her organisation skills.

The raffles were a big success too - or at least they were for me. Winning two hams, a meat tray and the $50 monthly draw was a good Christmas bonus for us.  The Members Draw was not won with the winning 7 Day Member unfortunately not being at the club at the time on the draw - missing out on a plus $2000 Christmas windfall.

Another successful week for Louise Stimpson who won a trophy and medal
puting her in the Hall of Fame Winners for her skills at Bocce.
